My son became a Bar Mitzvah this summer and spent Succoth in Israel.

While there, he and his friends were approached by an elderly gentleman. The man stretched out his arm before them and began rolling up his shirt sleeve. The boys stared as he eventually revealed the presence of death-camp numbers, tattooed upon his frail, slightly shaking arm. He added the warning, "Never forget what they did to us," and with that bid them farewell.

As the survivors dwindle in number, the responsibility to keep the memory alive falls squarely on our shoulders. Without the visual impact of actual arms branded by the Nazi regime, it will become harder and harder to keep the future generations from 'forgetting'.

The work of Black is a Color strives to provide the visual images desperately needed to insure that we truly 'never forget'.

We are striving for high visibility through exhibitions in Synagogues, community centers, schools, and the like. Your financial support can make this a reality. Thank you!
